2011 NFL Draft Results: Tennessee Titans Select Jake Locker

With the eighth pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans selected Jake Locker, quarterback from the University of Washington. This is a shocking selection, especially with Blaine Gabbert of Missouri on the board, and it takes away a potential Redskins selection at No. 10. Redskins coach Mike Shanahan has long coveted Locker. Instead, he will have to take someone else to lead his team.

Locker was a consensus top 10 pick last year, but elected to return to school. His draft stock suffered as he had a difficult season, showing accuracy issues throughout. Obviously, though, it didn't affect his stock that much, as the Titans elected to take him despite all of these problems. Tennessee certainly needs a quarterback, with Vince Young certainly on the way out and Kerry Collins old and ineffective. Most just felt they would take Gabbert instead.

The Dallas Cowboys, at No. 9, are now on the clock.
