Nobody has any idea how good a professional Leonard Hankerson will be. That's all a guessing game, one that will be determined several years down the line. But if there is one thing we know about the Redskins' 2011 NFL Draft third-round pick, it's that he certainly was pretty awesome in college.
Hankerson, of course, went to the University of Miami, home of such receivers like Michael Irvin, Reggie Wayne, Randal Hill, Lamar Thomas, Kellen Winslow, Andre Johnson and, oh yeah, Santana Moss. And yet, of all those players, Hankerton holds some Miami receiving records, shattering many in his final year at Miami, when he caught 72 passes for 1,156 yards and 13 touchdowns. Here is where he ranks in several Miami categories:
Single-season receptions: Most in school history
Single-season receiving yards: Most in school history
Single-season touchdowns for a receiver: Most in school history
Single-season touchdowns for any non-quarterback: Fifth in school history
Career receptions: Fifth in school history
Career receiving yards: Sixth in school history
Career touchdowns for a receiver: Third in school history
All this for a third-round pick. I think the Redskins got a steal.
