Dan Snyder Became Washington Redskins Owner 12 Years Ago Today

On May 25, 1999, Daniel M. Snyder became the fourth owner in Washington Redskins history. Today is Wednesday, May 25, 2011, which means we have reached the 12-year anniversary of Snyder's reign of terror. (That's a figure of speech, by the way, unless "terror" is used in a sports connotation).

The list of negatives would waste tons of cyber ink, and frankly, I think you are all aware of them. The bad signings, the bold proclamations, the zillions of coaches, the bleeding of fans' money, the lawsuits, the rumors, the barring of signs -- I mean, we could go on and on and on. But we won't in this space, because this is a happy place.

Instead, here's an interesting question posed by Hogs Haven: Which Redskins players that were here during the "Snyder Era" will eventually belong in the team's "Ring of Fame?" Sean Taylor is already in there, and names like Chris Samuels, Clinton Portis, Santana Moss and Chris Cooley are mentioned as possibilities. I'd add London Fletcher to that list too. Anyone else?

(Though you could argue that Snyder deserves his own "Ring of Infamy," which will include jerseys for guys like Albert Haynesworth, Brandon Lloyd, Adam Archuleta, Deion Sanders, Jason Taylor and many more).
