NFL Free Agency To Begin Saturday If Players Approve New CBA Monday

With the news that the players are almost certainly approving a new CBA on Monday to end the NFL lockout, we finally have an idea of when NFL free agency will begin. The official start date will be five days after the agreement is ratified, according to Mike Freeman of CBS Sports. That means that if the players vote Monday, free agency will begin Saturday, July 30.

NFL teams like the Washington Redskins can talk to their own free agents as soon as the deal is ratified. However, the first day where they can sign free agents from other teams will be Saturday. The Redskins are expected to be among the most active teams in free agency, and they also have a number of their own 2011 NFL free agents to address.
