NFL Free Agency Could Begin As Soon As Tuesday According To Adam Schefter

So far in the NFL Lockout, we have gotten a lot of bad information and heard a lot of reports that ended up being false. So take everything you hear with a grain of salt until it becomes official. But Adam Schefer has been sending out a series of tweets this morning with what he believes will be the new timeline for the abbreviated offseason once the NFL Lockout is lifted.

Teams can sign their free agents this afternoon. Teams can begin talking to UFAs this afternoon. Teams can sign UFAs tomorrow at noon.less than a minute ago via UberSocial for BlackBerry Favorite Retweet Reply

That seems a little fast, so we're not sure if it will end up being the case. In fact, it conflicts with other reports. But if it is, the rest of this week could be absolutely insane. The NFL would basically have to fit about four months of offseason activity into four days. Hold onto your hats.

Schefter also reports that teams could agree to trades Monday afternoon. but that they would not become official until Saturday, and that any unrestricted free agent contracts wouldn't be official until August 2.

Again, we aren't sure if this is correct or not because there are so many reports out there, each offering their own timeline of what they are sure will happen. So we'll just have to wait for the lockout to be lifted, and for the actual details to come out before we know for sure.
