Washington Redskins Training Camp Schedule 2011: Camp To Begin Thursday, According To Report

It looks like Washington Redskins training camp will actually begin on Thursday, July 28, at least as of right now. FOX Sports' Jay Glazer is reporting that the players are expected to sign a new CBA Monday to end the NFL lockout. Under that timeline, 10 teams would open camp Wednesday, 10 Thursday, 10 Friday and the remaining two on Saturday.

The reason for the discrepancy is that each will open exactly 15 days before their preseason opener. The Redskins are scheduled to begin their preseason on August 12, so therefore, they would be one of the teams that opens on Thursday.

Previous reports suggested Redskins training camp would begin on Saturday, but under Glazer's timeline, the Redskins would be opening Thursday. The other teams to open Thursday would be the Pittsburgh Steelers, Miami Dolphins, Atlanta Falcons, Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints.
