2011 NFL Free Agents: Redskins To Bid With Jets For Santonio Holmes, According To Report

We are still not sure when NFL free agency will begin, but according to a report by Gary Myers of the New York Daily News, the Washington Redskins and New York Jets will be engaged in a "bidding war" for Santonio Holmes, one of the top 2011 NFL free agents on the market. The Redskins are in the market for another wide receiver and Holmes is an accomplished one that is available.

Bringing back Holmes, the top wide receiver playmaker on the market, as an unrestricted free agent is the Jets' No. 1 priority. Sources say the Redskins have also made Holmes their No. 1 priority.

The report backs up an earlier report linking Holmes to the Redskins. However, there are a lot of moving parts on both sides. The Jets also have Braylon Edwards to deal with as a free agent, which may divert their attention. On the Redskins' side, Santana Moss is a free agent, and the team will have to decide whether keeping him is more of a priority than going after Holmes.
