The Washington Redskins continue to stock the wide receiver position early in this 2011 NFL free agency period. After re-signing Santana Moss and signing Donte' Stallworth, the Redskins have acquired Jabar Gaffney from the Denver Broncos in a trade for defensive end Jeremy Jarmon, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Gaffney is a 31-year old veteran wideout that is coming off a career year with the Denver Broncos. Gaffney caught 65 passes for 875 yards and two touchdowns last season. He had 54 catches for 732 yards and two touchdowns in his first year in Denver in 2009. The Broncos were a very pass-happy team, but Gaffney is a somewhat reliable option that could be the Redskins' No. 3 or No. 4 receiver.
In return, the Redskins will ship out Jarmon, a hybrid defensive end/linebacker picked in the 2009 Supplemental Draft. He has 12 tackles and 0.5 sacks in his NFL career.
