Jarvis Jenkins Injury: Redskins' Defensive Lineman Says He 'Heard Pop,' But Says It 'Shouldn't Be Too Bad'

Defensive lineman Jarvis Jenkins, the Redskins' 2011 second-round pick who has been so promising in training camp and preseason, suffered what the team is currently calling a right knee sprain in the first quarter of the team's 34-31 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday. After the game, Jenkins was walking around on crutches and giving mixed postgame comments.

On the one hand, Jenkins said he heard a "pop" in his knee, which may seem to indicate it is serious. Via our own Daniel Shiferaw, who is reporting live from Baltimore:

Jarvis Jenkins on crutches. Said he felt a pop and doctors said it was an ACL. Not sure if it was a tear, though #redskinsless than a minute ago via Twitterrific Favorite Retweet Reply

On the other hand, Jenkins said he thinks he will be OK, telling John Keim of the Washington Examiner that it "shouldn't be too bad." Coach Mike Shanahan said in the postgame press conference that an MRI is scheduled for Friday.
