Buccaneers Vs. Redskins Lineups: Evan Royster Stars Over Ryan Torain

The lineups for the Redskins vs. Buccaneers NFL preseason game are out, and only one starter (Josh Wilson) will start for the Redskins. Tampa Bay will rest all 22 starters, so this will be a game to see a lot of backups. However, there was one surprising decision made by coach Mike Shanahan at running back. Sixth-round pick Evan Royster, who has been healthy all preseason, gets the start over last year's starter, Ryan Torain.

Torain has been injured for the first three games of the preseason, so one would think he would play a lot in this game to prove himself. Instead, he's sitting behind Royster, a sixth-round pick who also hasn't received a ton of opportunities behind Tim Hightower and Roy Helu. Some are speculating this means Torain's spot on the roster may be in jeopardy. While that seems like a stretch, how else could one interpret Shanahan's decision?
