Welcome to the NFL, Ryan Kerrigan. The Washington Redskins' rookie made an impact in a big way in the game against the New York Giants, breaking a 14-14 tie with an unbelievable defensive play. Kerrigan tipped an Eli Manning pass, then caught the ball in the air and ran it back for a touchdown.
The Redskins had forced a third and 11 and showed blitz. Manning was pressured and try to throw it out in the flat off his back foot. Kerrigan worked off a Kareem McKenzie block, jumped in the air and tipped the pass. He then located the ball and caught it at the Giants' nine-yard line. He eventually was able to run it back all the way for the touchdown.
The Giants in general have not been able to move the ball well early in the second half.
