It looks like the Washington Redskins are on their way to winning their season opener over the New York Giants. That's the case after Rex Grossman found Jabar Gaffney for a four-yard touchdown pass to give the Redskins a 28-14 lead with just 5:04 left in the game.
The Redskins were put in that position thanks to a 22-yard catch and run by Fred Davis on third down that brought the ball inside the 10-yard line. Two plays later, Gaffney snuck inside the cornerback on a slant, and the Redskins took the two-touchdown lead.
It's been a good day for Redskins newcomers. Tim Hightower and Gaffney have touchdowns, and Ryan Kerrigan and seventh-round draft pick Chris Neild have made huge plays defensively.
