The Washington Redskins come-from-behind 22-21 victory over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2 did not come without some battle scars, as several Washington defenders were nicked up during the roller coaster Redskins win.
The most important injury was suffered by cornerback Josh Wilson in the third quarter. While making a tackle on Cardinals running back Beanie Wells, Wilson led with his head and collided with Wells’ hip, slumping to the ground and remaining there for some time as the Redskins medical staff tended to him. Just as the emergency cart made it to the field, Wilson was able to stand and walk off under his own power. He headed to the locker room and did not return.
According to John Keim, coach Mike Shanahan confirmed Wilson has a back injury, but perhaps it is not as serious as it looked:
Washington will need Wilson and his defensive backfield teammates at full strength in Week 3, as the Redskins face mercurial Dallas quarterback Tony Romo and a potentially explosive Cowboys passing attack.
