Redskins Vs. Cowboys: Tony Romo Injuries Include Punctured Lung, According To Report

The plot thickens when it comes to Tony Romo's injury status for next Monday's showdown against the Washington Redskins. A previous report indicated Romo merely had one broken rib, but ESPN's Chris Mortensen is now reporting that Romo also has a punctured lung. His status remains uncertain for the game.

While a CT scan revealed only one fracture to Tony Romo's ribs, the Cowboys' quarterback has been diagnosed with a punctured lung, according to sources.

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett did not address the report of the punctured lung in his Monday press conference, saying instead that "I would not think there's any reason to think that he won't play Monday."

Romo was initially taken out of last Sunday's game against the 49ers, but was later re-inserted into the game despite the injury. The Cowboys are already expected to be shorthanded next Monday, as top wide receiver Miles Austin is expected to be out with a hamstring injury.
