The NFL playoff picture is now set after the New York Giants secured the last spot in the NFC with a 31-14 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football. The Giants, who were responsible for two of the Washington Redskins' five wins on the season, emerged as the champions in a hotly-contested NFC East. Here are the final NFC East standings:
- New York Giants: 9-7 (3-3 in division)
- Philadelphia Eagles: 8-8 (5-1)
- Dallas Cowboys: 8-8 (2-4)
- Washington Redskins: 5-11 (2-4)
Elsewhere, the Denver Broncos lost to Kansas City, but wrapped up a playoff spot with Oakland's loss to San Diego. Baltimore defeated Cincinnati to win the AFC North and get a first-round bye, but the Bengals still made the playoffs thanks to coming out on top in a number of tiebreakers.
