The Washington Redskins want to get a quarterback this year in the offseason, but even if they get a new signal-caller under center, they'll need to upgrade the offensive line if they hope to protect him. Walter Football came out with a new Mock Draft and they have the Redskins taking Iowa tackle Riley Reiff at No. 6 overall. As they explain, he is a much needed upgrade/replacement for Jammal Brown on the right side of the line.
Right tackle Jammal Brown may not be back in 2012. He has no more guaranteed money left on his $27.5 million contract, and Mike Shanahan was quoted as saying that Brown's future depends on his ability to return to 100 percent in the offseason. Considering that Brown has always been hurt throughout his career, Washington will be looking for a new right tackle.
If the Redskins are looking for a typical right tackle, and it makes sense that they would considering they have Trent Williams on the eft side, than Reiff is a pretty good fit. He performs better in the run game than he does in the pass protection, which is a skill-set that is better suited to the right side.
