SB Nation released its Week 5 NFL Power Rankings, and NFL Editor Joel Thorman has ranked the Washington Redskins as the 18th-best team, three spots better than last week's rankings. Despite moving up, the Redskins (2-2) remain the lowest ranked team in the NFC East as the Philadelphia Eagles (No. 7), New York Giants (14) and Dallas Cowboys (17) are still sloted above Washington.
Here's what Thorman had to say about the Redskins, who defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 24-22, on Sunday.
18. Washington Redskins (LW: 21, 2-2): RGIII is still fun to watch. The defense, while getting better last week, is not so fun to watch.
Surprisingly, SB Nation's ranking of the Redskins is the exact same as ESPN.com's and NFL.com's, which were both released Tuesday afternoon. CBSSports.com's Pete Prisco has Washington slotted at No. 19.
Overall, SB Nation has moved the Houston Texans to No. 1, even though last week's top team, the Atlanta Falcons, remained unbeaten. The Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers and Chicago Bears round out the top 5.
