Fred Davis injured his left Achilles and was helped off the field during the first quarter of the Washington Redskins' game against the Giants.
Davis has just 23 catches for 213 yards on 30 targets and has yet to score. His last four games have been better, with averages of 65 yards and 4.8 receptions per game.
The injury looked bad for Davis. He was hobbling to the bench and couldn't put any weight on the injured foot. He was being tended to on the trainer's table and this has all the makings of a multi-week injury and possibly the season.
Niles Paul is next on the depth chart, but he certainly isn't the weapon that Davis is in the passing game and actually has been used as a fullback. Expect the Skins to use more three-wide sets and try to establish the run against the Giants.
