Falcons vs. Redskins score update: Neither offense gets going in scoreless first quarter

The Washington Redskins and Atlanta Falcons are locked in a scoreless tie after one quarter at FedEx Field. In a first quarter dominated by defense, both offenses moved the ball a little but were quickly stalled.

The Falcons had four first downs in the first half and the Redskins had three. Atlanta held the ball for a 12-play opening drive, but the teams traded punts on their first-quarter drives.

Matt Ryan was 9-for-15 passing for 60 yards, while Robert Griffin was 2-for-4 for 24 yards in the first quarter.

The Redskins will have the ball to start the second quarter.

The Falcons come into the game as one of the league's last remaining undefeated teams. Atlanta moved to 4-0 last week when Matt Ryan led a late drive the length of the field, setting up a field goal for the 30-28 victory.

Washington is 2-2 entering Sunday's game after snapping a two-game losing streak last week with a 24-22 win over the Tampa Bay Bucanneers.
