Redskins waive LB Markus White, sign LB Mario Addison

The Washington Redskins waived linebacker Markus White on Tuesday, signing Mario Addison in his place.

The Washington Redskins signed linebacker Mario Addison from the Indianapolis Colts' practice squad on Tuesday. To make room for Addison the team released linebacker Markus White.

Addison, who attended college at Troy, played in three games for the Chicago Bears and three games for the Colts in 2011. He appeared in the first three games of the 2012 season for the Colts and recorded two tackles before being demoted to the practice squad. At Troy, Addison recorded 79 tackles, 13 sacks, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one pass deflection.

White was a seventh-round selection of the Redskins in 2011 out of Florida State. White was a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the first two weeks of the 2012 season before signing with the Redskins. He only appeared in one game this season for Washington.

The Redskins (2-3) host the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, Oct. 14. in Week 6.
