NFL Power Rankings 2012: Redskins moving up in polls

A weekly round-up of where the Washington Redskins stand in the power ranking polls. Do you agree with the rankings?

The Washington Redskins have moved up in the power ranking polls, according to posts on SB Nation, ESPN.com, FoxSports.com and NFL.com.

Currently in the midst of a four-game winning streak, the Redskins managed to pull-out an impressive overtime victory against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 14. Only one game back of the New York Giants for the top-spot in the NFC East, Washington also sits one game out of a wild card spot.

With their next two games coming against teams with losing records (the Cleveland Browns in Week 15 and Philadelphia Eagles in Week 16), the Redskins are knocking on the door of a playoff berth.

At SB Nation, curator Joel Thorman moved the team up four spots from last week to No. 10 overall. Looking at the prospects of their end of season schedule, Thorman thinks Washington has a legitimate shot to make the playoffs:

The Redskins finish at Cleveland, at Philly and hosting Dallas. Wouldn't be stunned to see them run the table. For my entertainment's sake in the playoffs, I hope they do. No one had them beating the Giants and Ravens.

At ESPN.com, the team moved up two spots to No. 12, while Brian Billick moved the team up three spots to No. 11 at FoxSports.com. NFL.com was the only poll not to increase the Redskins standing as they kept the team ranked at No. 14 overall.
