Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III currently ranks as the eighth-highest vote-getter for the 2013 Pro Bowl, according to a press release from the NFL on Wednesday.
As of the time of the release, Griffin has accumulated 537,459 votes, which puts him just above New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees and below New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski. Out of the top 10, Griffin is the only rookie to appear on the list.
Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is the top vote-getter, receiving 823,372 nominations. New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is second, receiving 746,710 votes. Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers came in at No. 5 with 652,807 votes.
Griffin is the fourth-highest quarterback on the list (second-highest NFC quarterback).
Selection to the 2013 Pro Bowl is determined based upon a vote among coaches, fans and players. The fan vote will conclude on Monday, Dec. 17 following the Monday Night Football matchup between the New York Jets and Tennessee Titans.
Players and coaches will conduct their votes on Dec. 20-21. The final rosters will be announced on the NFL Network's "Total Access" show on Wednesday, Dec. 26.
