After Monday night's 17-16 victory over the Giants, the Redskins were ranked the 14th-best team by SB Nation.

USA TODAY Sports

The Washington Redskins impressive 17-16 victory over the New York Giants Monday helped the Redskins move up in the latest SB Nation NFL Power Rankings, released Tuesday.

Washington (6-6), which was ranked 16th last week, moved into the top 15 by NFL Editor Joel Thorman after moving one win closer to a possible NFC playoff berth. The Redskins have collected three straight victories.

14. Washington Redskins (LW: 16, 6-6): It wasn't RGIII's best game but he threw one touchdown and fumbled another one in for six (somehow) as the Giants beat the Redskins. Are we about to have three rookie quarterbacks lead their team to the playoffs?

Overall, the Houston Texans remained the top-ranked team, while the Atlanta Falcons (No. 2), New England Patriots (No. 3), Denver Broncos (No. 4) and San Francisco 49ers (No. 5) rounded out the top 5.

The Redskins were ranked the second-highest team in the NFC East. Despite losing the Giants, ranked eighth, remained in the top 10; while the Dallas Cowboys (16th) and Philadelphia Eagles (32nd) were slotted below them.

This week, Washington hosts the No. 6-ranked Baltimore Ravens (1 p.m. ET on CBS). That game will be followed up by a Week 15 meeting with the Cleveland Browns (No. 25). The Redskins play the Eagles and Cowboys, respectively, in the final weeks of the season.
