The 2012 NFL Draft is going to be an extremely interesting, and pivotal, day in the progression of Mike Shanahan's Washington Redskins, and the direction the team is headed varies greatly from mock draft to mock draft. In Rob Rang of CBSSports.com's latest "Big Board", he ranks wide receiver Justin Blackmon as the sixth best player on the board. If the draft went exactly as Rang's board (unlikely, yes, but still possible) the Redskins would be drafting the best wideout in the 2012 draft class:
6. Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma State*: The reigning two-time Biletnikof winner as the nation's top wide receiver, Blackmon is unquestionably the top talent at this position in the 2012 draft. His size and strength made him virtually unstoppable at the collegiate level but if he is to earn a similar grade to former top-five picks Calvin Johnson and Andre Johnson, he'll have to answer questions about his straight-line speed.
Any wide receiver being compared to Calvin Johnson and Andre Johnson will certainly make Washington fans drool, but for now the question still remains: who would throw to Blackmon if he were drafted?
