NFL Mock Draft 2012: Will Redskins Reach For Michael Floyd?

The guys at SB Nation have just come out with a new 2012 NFL Mock Draft just in time to be ruined by disappointing measurements and subpar 40 times at the NFL combine this weekend. They don't have the Redskins trading up for Robert Griffin III (The Browns get that honor) but they do have them making an interesting pick in Notre Dame wide receiver Michael Floyd.

With Blackmon off the board, the Redskins surprise and go after Floyd here. Yes, it's a reach, but Blackmon isn't that far ahead of Floyd, who has superior speed among the two. Whoever is taking the snaps for the Redskins next season now has a big-play threat.

Floyd is exactly the kind of receiver the Redskins need. He is big, has sure hands and deceptive speed. But I'm just not sure he is the sixth best player in the Draft and a team like the Redskins needs to be taking best player available instead of need. Too many other holes to fill. If they trade back though, he makes a whole lot of sense.
