Redskins-Rams Trade: Rams Officially Announce Trading Of No. 2 Overall Pick to Redskins

Although the news has been broken for a couple of days, the St. Louis Rams announced via Twitter that they have officially submitted a trade involving the No. 2 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft to the Washington Redskins, paving the way for the drafting of Robert Griffin III by the Redskins.

The Redskins are reportedly sending first-round picks in 2012, 2013 and 2014 in addition to a second-round pick in 2012, although those picks have not been made official yet. The Redskins originally held the No. 6 overall pick in this year's draft.
