The impending signing of free agent wide receiver Pierre Garcon is cause for optimism with Washington Redskins fans, but according to a report by NFL Network's Jason La Canfora, it would not have been made possible without the Redskins' trade to the Rams to get the No. 2 overall draft pick to presumably draft quarterback Robert Griffin III.
Just now on NFL Network, @JasonLaCanfora said if #Redskins had not made trade to move up for Robert Griffin, Garcon wouldve signed w/ SD.— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) March 14, 2012
I don't blame Garcon for this, he would have been a great fit for the Chargers with Philip Rivers as his quarterback. But now it appears that he will be the target for Griffin in Washington.
