NFL Free Agency: Redskins Pursuing OL Ben Grubbs, According To Report

The Redskins aren't looking very far afield in pursuit of their latest free agency target. According to Mike Jones of The Washington Post, the Redskins are pursuing left guard Ben Grubbs of the Baltimore Ravens.

Per Jones:

A five-year veteran with the Baltimore Ravens, the 6-foot-3, 311-pound Auburn product started 10 games last season and has started 70 of 74 games for the Ravens during his career.

Grubbs played for current Redskins offensive line coach Chris Foerster, who held the same position in Baltimore during Grubbs’ rookie year.

The Redskins offensive line suffered from lack of depth in 2011. In particular, once guard Kory Lichtensteiger went down with a knee injury, it turned into a game of musical chairs. A durable depth signing like Grubbs would definitely go a long way toward fixing that problem.
