One of the Redskins' main free agency targets officially got away from them Thursday night, as Eddie Royal signed with the San Diego Chargers.
We'll give the hat tip to ESPN's Adam Schefter on this one.

You will recall that one report late Tuesday night had Royal signing a two-year deal with the Redskins. Talks progressed to the point that Royal was reportedly seen dining at Morton's with Redskins owner Daniel Snyder, general manager Bruce Allen, and head coach Mike Shanahan. But all the fine steak in the world wouldn't have made much of a difference if the Chargers did indeed offer him one more year than the Redskins.
UPDATE: And right on cue, Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune provides some numbers.
Eddie Royal deal: $13.5 million for 3 years, including $6 guaranteed
