2012 NFL Mock Draft: Robert Griffin III Trade A Risk The Redskins Needed To Take

The Washington Redskins traded up for the No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft a few weeks ago, and since that day, the Mock Drafts around the Internet have become a touch predictable. I guess this is what Indianapolis Colts fans have felt all season long. The newest 2012 NFL Mock Draft at SB Nation explains why it was a trade the team needed to make.

Of course, Griffin is an incredible talent himself. Some argue that he has a higher ceiling than Luck. Forget the notion that Washington paid too much for the opportunity to draft Griffin. The cost of plodding along with spare parts at quarterback has a much higher long-term cost to it.

Griffin might just start for the Redskins from Day 1, but either way, there won't be much of a quarterback controversy for the Redskins, and that feels pretty good to type.
