If the Washington Redskins are looking for a quarterback of the future in the 2012 offseason, they have both a free agent class with a few gems and an NFL Draft that holds the potential of Robert Griffin III. But protecting that investment with a strong offensive line will likely also be a priority for Redskins coach Mike Shanahan, which is probably why the latest 2012 NFL Mock Draft from ESPN's Todd McShay has Washington taking Iowa offensive tackle Riley Reiff with the No. 6 pick.
While Mel Kiper factors the possibility of Peyton Manning, whom the Redskins are reportedly pursuing, heading to Washington into his latest 2012 NFL Mock Draft, McShay assumes that the Redskins will be getting a new quarterback of some sort, leaving Washington without an ideal match of need and value at the pick.
But Reiff would "provide flexibility" along the line, which might be enough to get him in a Redskins uniform.
