As the 2012 NFL Draft quickly approaches, mock drafts continue to fly around the internet fast and furious, attempting to project what players teams may select on draft weekend. Unlike other teams, the Washington Redskins are often associated with just one player, former Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III. The latest mock draft from Dane Brugler of CBSSports.com is no different:
2. Washington Redskins (from St. Louis)
Robert Griffin III, QB, Baylor: It didn't come cheap, but the Redskins did what they thought was necessary to secure the rights to a player they view as a future franchise quarterback. Washington continued its trend of being active offseason movers, but instead of free agency, they do it this time with draft picks, giving up three first-round picks and a second-rounder for the rights to select Griffin. The pick isn't official until draft day, but the Heisman Trophy winner might as well start looking for real estate in the D.C. area.
Redskins fans certainly hope this and many of the other mock drafts are right, so the RGIII Era can begin in earnest on Draft Night 2012.
