The Washington Redskins checked one of the bigger items off their offseason wish list over the weekend when they re-signed inside linebacker and defensive leader London Fletcher to a contract extension. Until now we only had the word of London to go on, but now we have some more details about what the exact specifications of the contract are.
RT @JasonLaCanfora: LB London Fletcher's contract is 5yrs, but voids to 2yrs. The 2yr deal is worth $10.75M, with $5.25M fully guaranteed— Rich Campbell (@Rich_Campbell) April 16, 2012
Now keep in mind that London Fletcher will be 37 in a couple of weeks, so the chances of him making it to year five of that contract are somewhere between slim and none. So I would expect the deal to be more in the two-year variety. But then again, who would count London Fletcher out of anything at this point in his career?
