NFL Mock Draft 2012: The Sporting News Predicts The Redskins Will Select Robert Griffin III

Another day, another mock draft predicting that the Washington Redskins will select Baylor Bears quarterback Robert Griffin III with the No. 2 overall draft pick. This time its the Sporting News in their correspondents mock draft via Washington Examiner writer John Keim.

The Redskins haven't had a franchise QB in 25-plus years and paid a steep price to move up to find one. Griffin's arm and athleticism make him a good fit in Mike Shanahan's offense-and his charisma will make him the most popular athlete in town.

The price was steep but it should overall be worth it to bring his level of talent to Washington, D.C. Griffin has shown throughout the entire draft process starting from the end of the college football season until now that he is ready and able to lead this team going forward.
