As the 2012 NFL Draft winds down Saturday with selections in Rounds 4 throguh 7, assessments of teams' picks through the first three rounds are gradually hitting the internet. The Washington Redskins, who of course made a huge splash with the selection of Robert Griffin III second in this year's draft, did some wheeling and dealing in the third round, eventually picking offensive lineman Josh LeRibeus with the 71st selection. Pete Prisco of CBSSports.com offers this on LeRibeus:
No. 71: Redskins select: Josh LeRibeus, OG, Southern Methodist
He's a guy who didn't play in 2010 because of academic troubles, but bounced back to play well in 2011. He is a tough guy who will fight and can move -- a must in the Redskins scheme. Grade: C
LeRibeus missed the entire 2010 season after being ruled academically ineligible, but claims to have lost 70 pounds in the interim. The Redskins can use all the offensive line help they can get, so for that reason alone this pick should probably be higher than a "C".
