2012 NFL Draft Results: Redskins Choose Florida Atlantic RB Alfred Morris In Sixth Round

With the third pick in the sixth round of the 2012 NFL Draft, the 173rd pick overall, the Washington Redskins have selectd 5-foot-9, 219 pound running back Alfred Morris from Florida Atlantic.

Morris is considered a tweener at the next level, lacking the true size and speed of high-level NFL running backs. He is a natural runner between the tackles, and blocks well in the backfield.

The major drawback for Morris is again the speed and athleticism. Will Morris be able to find and hit the holes quick enough at the next level to succeed? He will face stiff competition in an already crowded Redskins backfield, where both Roy Helu and Evan Royster excelled at times last season in their rookie campaigns.
