2012 NFL Draft Results: Washington Selects Tackle Tom Compton With Team's Second Pick Of Sixth Round

The Washington Redskins used their second pick in the sixth round of the 2012 NFL Draft, the 193rd overall pick, to add more depth to the offensive line, selecting 6-foot-5, 314 pound tackle Tom Compton from South Dakota.

Compton started four straight years at South Dakota, and despite being from a small school possesses NFL-ready size and smarts that had some scouts projecting him as a fourth round pick.

Scouts say Compton is quick off the ball, and does a good job in both the run and pass games, effectively getting to the second level and taking on linebackers when needed. His inexperience with high-level competition could be an issue, but it looks like Washington may have gotten themselves a steal late in the sixth round.
