Tim Hightower Officially Re-Signs With The Redskins

Not a couple of days after running back Tim Hightower took to Twitter to announce that he was returning to the Washington Redskins for 2012, the team published a press release to announce his official re-signing with the team.

The Washington Redskins announced today that they have re-signed unrestricted free agent running back Tim Hightower. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Hightower played five games for the Redskins before injuring his knee and missing the rest of the season after coming over in a trade in 2011. In the five games he played, he rushed for 321 yards on 84 carries with one rushing touchdown while also hauling in 10 catches for 78 yards and the first receiving touchdown of his career.

Hightower returns to the team after running backs Evan Royster and Roy Helu played well in his absence.
