Brian Orakpo's Younger Brother Expelled From Colorado State

Well, this is no fun.

According to the Rocky Mountain Collegian, Mike Orakpo, the younger brother of Washington Redskins Pro Bowl linebacker Brian Orakpo, was one of three Colorado State football players expelled from the school following an off-campus fight last month.

Colorado State Athletic Director Jack Graham officially brought the hammer.

I am able to report now that players Mike Orakpo, Nordly Capi, and Colton Paulhus have been expelled from Colorado State, effective Monday May 7. Although there is an appeal process, expulsion in our Student Conduct Code means permanently removed from the University (they have been prohibited from coming on campus since the incident occurred).

Mike Orakpo, who slipped under the recruiting radar to land in Fort Collins, started 11 of Colorado State's 12 games in 2011, his sophomore season.

It's hard to see where he goes from here. Many Division I coaches are more than willing to look at prospects who have been cast aside, but Orakpo's circumstances, which include pending misdemeanor charges, make a trip into college football's hinterlands very likely.
