Josh LeRibeus Signs With Redskins, All 2012 Draft Picks Under Contract

The Washington Redskins now have all nine players drafted from the 2012 NFL Draft under contract after signing third round draft pick Josh LeRibeus to a contract on Wednesday. The Southern Methodist Mustangs guard was selected in the third round of the draft as to give the offensive line depth.

While at SMU, LeRibeus started on an offensive line that helped their leading rusher, Zach Line, rush for over 1,200 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2011. Line also averaged 5.9 yards per carry, so it was a good addition to draft him. The Redskins running game, while improving, certainly needs any amount of extra help and depth they can get and hopefully LeRibeus can give that help.

The Redskins finished last year ranked No. 25 in rushing, averaging only about 101 yards per game, scoring eight rushing touchdowns during the season. LeRibeus could be a player that could open up new rushing lanes for running backs like Tim Hightower.
