Redskins Training Camp 2012: Team Has Discussed Adding Another Running Back, According To Report

The Redskins first day of training camp came to a close Thursday as rumors began to swirl that the team would go out and get another running back. From Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.

Benson rushed for over 1,000 yards in 2011 while with the Cincinnati Bengals, while Grant is also a free agent who put up 827 all-purpose yards with Green Bay in 2011.

As for the running backs currently on the team, Mike Shanahan told the media that the competition between Tim Hightower, Roy Helu, and Evan Royster was wide open, as the team has decided to limit the activity of Hightower, who is coming off surgery to repair a torn ACL.

In other news, Shanahan said that tackle Jammal Brown was placed on the team's physically unable to perform list, where his name was joined by those of cornerback Tanard Jackson (calf) and running back Tristan Davis (knee).
