Redskins Training Camp: Washington Claims WR Dezmon Briscoe Off Waivers

The Washington Redskins have brought another wide receiver into training camp, claiming former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Dezmon Briscoe off waivers. Via Brian Tinsman of Redskins.com:

The Redskins announced today that they have claimed wide receiver Dezmon Briscoe off waivers from Tampa Bay.

In a corresponding move, the Redskins also waived wide receiver Brian Hernandez.

Briscoe (6-2, 210) was originally drafted out of Kansas by the Cincinnati Bengals in the sixth round (191st overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft.

Briscoe has played in 18 career games, with two starts. He has amassed 480 yards receiving on 41 receptions, with seven touchdowns. He actually led the Buccaneers in receiving touchdowns in 2011, with six, two of those coming in the team's season final against the Atlanta Falcons where Briscoe also had a career-high eight receptions.
