2012 NFL Offseason: Former Redskins WR Atwaan Randle El Set To Retire, According To Report

Antwaan Randle El, a kick returner and wide receiver for the Washington Redskins from 2006-2009, is expected to announcement his retirement next week. Via The Times of Northwest Indiana:

Antwaan Randle El will announce his retirement from the NFL on July 14 at his skills training academy, according to his brother Curtis Randle El.

As first reported on nwi.com, Curtis Randle El told The Times in an email that his younger brother would announce his retirement at the two-day camp at Thornton High School, his prep alma mater.

A three sport star at Indiana University, Randle El was drafted in the second round by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2002. He is perhaps best known for his 43-yard touchdown pass to Hines Ward in Super Bowl XL, the only wideout to toss a TD pass in the game's history.
