There is plenty of excitement among Washington Redskins fans, as the Robert Griffin III era is set to begin in Washington D.C. Redskins fans, however, aren't the only ones excited for the debut of RGIII. Fantasy football owners are also eagerly awaiting his NFL regular season debut.
Even for a rookie quarterback, Griffin is highly thought of in fantasy football circles. Fake Teams, SB Nation's fantasy sports website, recently released their 2012 fantasy football quarterback rankings and Griffin checked in at No. 14. While No. 14 may not seem like much, he is ahead of more proven quarterbacks like Jay Cutler, Josh Freeman and Joe Flacco.
Griffin is also ahead of fellow rookie quarterback and No. 1 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft Andrew Luck. Griffin has often been compared to Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, but his No. 14 ranking is nine spots ahead of the No. 23 ranking Fake Teams gave Newton prior to the 2011 season.
