The Washington Redskins made a roster move at cornerback on Tuesday, opting to sign David Jones while releasing Crezdon Butler.

Jones spent the preseason with the Redskins, but was cut on Aug. 31. The next day, the team opted to sign Butler, who had been released by the Arizona Cardinals the day before. Butler played in two games as a third-string cornerback and special teamer, but injured his hamstring in the team's loss to the the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday.

Jones was a fifth-round draft pick of the New Orleans Saints in 2007 out of Wingate. He spent three years with the Cincinnati Bengals and had his most productive year in 2010, playing in all 16 games and recording an interception. He had eight tackles and three passes defended in preseason for the Redskins.

There was also a practice squad roster move, as the Redskins signed defensive lineman Chigbo Anunoby, a rookie out of Morehouse, while cutting defensive lineman Delvin Johnson.
