Although both teams find themselves sliding on two-game losing streaks after winning their season openers, the Washington Redskins will be the slight underdogs when they face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Both squads will be looking for their second win of the season when they meet Sunday afternoon at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, but the Buccaneers' performances look to be slightly more impressive. Washington's only victory came against the winless New Orleans Saints, while Tampa Bay beat the Carolina Panthers, whose only win was against the Saints. Tampa Bay quarterback Josh Freeman looked horrendous, completing only 10 of 28 passes last week in a loss to the Dallas Cowboys, but the Redskins' defense has given up either 31 or 32 points in each of the three games they've played, so Freeman could perform well against their porous defense.
Although they've dropped three games, Tampa Bay is a flawless 3-0 against the spread this year. If they want to continue that streak, they'll have to beat the Redskins with a few points tacked on, as they opened as 2-point favorites but the line has now moved that number to 3. The over/under for the game opened at 49 -- with Robert Griffin III's offense clicking and his team's defense giving up tons of points, the Redskins have hit the over in all three games this year.
