SB Nation released its final NFL Power Rankings Tuesday, and the Washington Redskins ended the season as the eighth-ranked team. The Redskins (10-6), the NFC East Division Champions, began the season ranked 19th.
On Sunday, the Redskins clinched the division crown and a home game in the first round of the NFL Playoffs with a 28-18 victory over the visiting Dallas Cowboys. It was the first division crown for Washington since 1999.
Here's what Thorman had to say about the Redskins, who ended the season on a seven-game winning streak.
19. Washington Redskins (LW: 23): RGIII is better than I thought. At least right away. The games will count next week and he will raise his game along with a productive running game led by ... someone. Although Mike Shanahan won't tell us who because he hates fantasy football players.
Overall, the Denver Broncos ended the regular season as the No. 1-ranked team. The Seattle Seahawks, Atlanta Falcons, New England Patriots and Green Bay Packers rounded out the top five, respectively.

The Redskins will continue their season Sunday when they face the Seattle Seahawks in the Wild-Card round of the NFL Playoffs. The winner advances to play either the Atlanta Falcons or San Francisco 49ers in the NFC semi-final.
