Gilbert Arenas' Preseason Beard Will Be Trimmed Soon

Throughout the preseason, Gilbert Arenas has confused amateur psychologists reporters by outwardly appearing depressed in public settings. There was media day, when he refused to smile, and there was his cryptic comments after the team's first preseason game over Dallas.

But fear not, everyone, because it looks like Fake Depressed Arenas is soon to be no more. Arenas confirmed today that he intends to shave one of the major parts of his Sad Arenas ensemble: his Bill Cosby-like beardVia Michael Lee:

↵↵Arenas walked up the stairs after practice on Monday and Wizards owner Ted Leonsis was waiting to greet him with a hug and a smile. Leonsis made a comment about Arenas's beard. Arenas grinned and said, "I'm cutting it. I'm cutting it."

Arenas later said it was simply a "preseason" look, which is a different take on the classic "playoff beard" concept. I guess this means that we can kiss any hopes of a beard-growing contest between Arenas and DeShawn Stevenson goodbye.
