Report: Gilbert Arenas Seeing Foot Doctor In Washington D.C.

In yet another sign that Gilbert Arenas' ankle injury may be more serious than anyone realized, the star guard is reportedly not even with the team on their road trip. According to CSN's Chris Miller, Arenas flew home today to see a foot doctor back in the D.C. area.

Gilbert Arenas already back in DC meeting with a foot specialist.

Michael Lee of the Washington Post is reporting that Arenas is seeing Dr. Mary Myerson, a foot specialist based in Baltimore. Arenas also apparently was in a walking boot after practice yesterday, which probably indicates the injury is more serious than initially expected. I know I would be very surprised to see Arenas play in the home opener against the Philadelphia 76ers next Tuesday night.

Al Thornton is expected to start in Arenas' place tonight against the Magic. The Wizards were planning on going with a three-guard lineup of John Wall, Arenas and Kirk Hinrich had Arenas been healthy.
