Gilbert Arenas 'Unlikely' To Play In Wizards' Home Opener Tuesday

When we first learned that Gilbert Arenas had a problem with his ankle, the prognosis was that he would miss the team's first two road games and maybe be ready in time for Tuesday's home opener against the Philadelphia 76ers. As of right now, it looks like even that was optimistic.

Arenas did not practice again today, and though he will officially be a game-time decision, coach Flip Saunders told reporters that Arenas is unlikely to play. Arenas will have a follow-up MRI this afternoon to determine the severity of the injury, but as of right now, I doubt we'll see him on the court.

Worse, John Wall apparently has an injury, missing practice today after suffering a sprained ankle in the Wizards' loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday, according to Michael Lee of the Washington Post. It looks like Wall will play, but that's definitely a concern that needs to be monitored going forward. The good news is that Wall was doing drills at the end of practice, according to Craig Stouffer of the Washington Examiner.
